2025 Edition
The Saint Vitus Martyr Festival was held in Carmiano from Saturday, October 25 to Monday, October 27, 2025. On the religious side, the three-day preparation period at the Mother Church led to the eve of Sunday the 26th, with morning Masses, Confirmations, and the solemn procession at 6 PM towards the parish of Sant'Antonio Abate; on Monday the 27th, the day of the festival, the blessing of the fair took place with the Saint's statue and the traditional fireworks display.
The MediTerra – Gastronomic, Cultural and Tourist Routes festival had a prominent role, promoted by the Pro Loco Carmiano-Magliano with the patronage of the Municipality, the Apulia Region, BCC Terra d'Otranto, GAL Terra d'Arneo, and Confagricoltura Lecce. On October 25, at 6 PM, the Municipal Palace Atrium hosted a conference on tourism, followed by guided tastings at the stands in Piazza Assunta and Via Roma (wines, olive oil, honey, gin, and BirrAut craft beers) and the concert by the group Ritmo Binario. The days of the 26th and 27th were accompanied by the City of Monteroni Brass Band and illuminations, until the traditional Saint Vitus Fair which closed the festivities.
