Four days of tradition and culture in Civate
The Saint Vito Festival is the patronal feast of Civate, a town in the Lecco area famous for the Romanesque complex of San Pietro al Monte, in the province of Lecco. Dedicated to Saints Vito and Modesto, it spans four days and has its heart in Piazza Antichi Padri, where the main events are concentrated.
The festival offers a rich and varied calendar: art exhibitions (such as the 'Vagabondarsi' exhibition by emerging artists at Villa Canali and 'L'atelier della memoria' created by schoolchildren), shows like the Unstable Equilibrist, concerts โ including one by Franco Giaffreda's band 'L'Enigma' โ and themed gastronomic evenings, from Emilia-Romagna cuisine to a Latin night with a DJ set. There are also inflatables and games for children.
The most solemn moment is the Holy Mass with the Associations, accompanied by the San Pietro al Monte Choir, followed by the traditional Offering of the Light and a performance by the Civate Musical Band, and a community lunch. The Saint Vito Festival is an event that combines devotion, culture, and social life, organized by the Municipality, the Parish, and numerous Civate associations together with Avis, in the heart of the province of Lecco.
The Saint Vito Festival 2026 enlivens Civate for four days. Thursday, June 11, opens with the 'GO in UP' initiative for young people; Friday, June 12, inaugurates the 'Vagabondarsi' exhibition at Villa Canali, with an Emilia-Romagna evening and a Latin night. Saturday, June 13, features the 'L'atelier della memoria' exhibition, the 'Unstable Equilibrist' show, and a concert by Franco Giaffreda's band 'L'Enigma'. Sunday, June 14, includes the Holy Mass with the San Pietro al Monte Choir, the Offering of the Light, a community lunch, and activities for children.
