The patron saint festival in the heart of Val di Fiemme

Saint Valentine is the patron saint of Panchià, a village in the Val di Fiemme nestled at the foot of the Cornon and Monte Agnello massifs in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The local parish church, dedicated to Saint Valentine and dating back to 1190, reflects the ancient bond between the community and its protector, who is celebrated every year on February 14th.
Around this date, the local events committee (CML) of Panchià organizes a week of events that bring the village to life in the heart of winter. The heart of the festivities is the parish theatre, a historic space for the village's social life, which hosts performances, social gatherings, and activities designed for all ages.
The Saint Valentine Celebrations blend religious tradition, local culture, and conviviality. The typical calendar alternates between theatre performances by local amateur companies, an afternoon of magic and carnival fun for children and teenagers with a communal snack, the Saint Valentine's dinner on the evening of February 14th, and "community cinema" screenings at the parish theatre.
There is no shortage of games involving the entire village, such as team quizzes and a raffle with prizes donated by local shops and businesses: a way to strengthen neighborhood ties and support the social life of this small Fiemme community.
Surrounded by forests and the peaks of the Dolomites, Panchià is a village in the province of Trento known for its woodworking and mountain tourism, crossed by the Avisio stream. The village preserves valuable landmarks such as the covered wooden bridge and the Capitèl dei Nastasi, a Gothic-era frescoed shrine.
The Saint Valentine Celebrations represent one of the most heartfelt occasions of the year to gather indoors during the cold season, when snow blankets the Val di Fiemme. The event offers residents and visitors an authentic glimpse of Trentino tradition, where devotion to the patron saint merges with the pleasure of being together through theatre, games, and good food.
Far from the major tourist events, the Saint Valentine Celebrations in Panchià are the festival of a small community that opens the doors of its parish theatre to anyone wishing to discover the most genuine side of the Trentino mountains in winter. An ideal opportunity to combine a holiday on the slopes of the Val di Fiemme with a moment of authentic village life.
The 2026 edition of the Saint Valentine Celebrations in Panchià is expected during the week surrounding February 14th, following the tradition of the patron saint festival organized by the local events committee (CML) at the parish theatre. At the moment, the official dates and program have not yet been released; updates will be available from the CML of Panchià and the Val di Fiemme Tourist Board.
The events take place primarily at the Parish Theatre of Panchià, in Piazza Chiesa, in the village center.
Panchià can be reached via the Strada Statale 48 delle Dolomiti, in the middle Val di Fiemme, between Predazzo and Ziano di Fiemme. The nearest train station is Ora/Auer (Brenner line), which is connected to the valley by public bus services.
For the Saint Valentine's dinner and other events, booking with the local events committee (CML) of Panchià is recommended. Useful information is also available at the Val di Fiemme Tourist Board (APT).
