Edition 2025 — Saint Tryphon Festival
In 2025, Alessano (LE) celebrated its patron saint, Saint Tryphon, from July 28 to 30, attracting worshippers and visitors from all over Lower Salento. The days combined religious rites—with solemn masses and the procession of the saint's statue through the historic center—with the secular side of the festival. The streets lit up with the evocative light displays, while concerts and musical bands accompanied the live festivities. There was no shortage of food and wine stands with typical local dishes, traditional sweets, and artisanal products. The festival concluded with a grand fireworks display, followed by the Fera Nova stalls that enlivened the market square and the town center.
Programme
The 2025 festival followed the traditional format: symphonic band concerts in the morning, liturgical services and a procession with the statue of Saint Tryphon during the day, entertainment for children and street performers in the afternoon, local Salento folk music groups in the square in the evening, and a fireworks display as a grand finale. On Monday, the Fera Nova featured stalls in the town center.
