Saint Stephen Festival (Patronal Feast)

A nine-day program

The 2025 Saint Stephen Festival opened on Sunday, July 27th, with an extraordinary market and the procession of the sacred painting, continuing with daily events until August 4th. Side events included the 'Gelato with the Stars' gourmet dinner in the Municipal Cloister, a cultural meeting at the Civic Museum with Bishop Giuseppe Favale, and a tango evening at the former 'Giuseppe Girolamo' slaughterhouse.

The heart of the festival: August 2-4

On the central weekend, the historic center came alive with children's entertainment, food stalls, and markets. On August 2nd, in via Roma, the 'La Nave '90' DJ set brought 90s music to the square. On August 3rd, the solemn day, the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Favale took place, followed by the gala procession with the relic, the concert by the 'Vito Semeraro' Band of Castellana Grotte, and the fireworks display in via Noci. On August 4th, the festival closed with the return procession and the 'Disney Opera' show by the Tebaide Orchestra, dedicated to families.

Artistic illuminations lit up Corso Umberto I and Piazza Teatro, while the funfair at the former Mercato Boario completed the festive atmosphere in the Municipality of Putignano, in Apulia.
