Edition 2025 — Saint Sebastian Avola

The 2025 edition of the Saint Sebastian Festival in Avola spanned five days, from May 7th to 11th, featuring a rich week of cultural events and the religious climax on the patronal Sunday. Concerts at the Teatro Garibaldi, conferences, book presentations, an amateur cycling race, and floral workshops led the city toward the traditional 'nuri' pilgrimage, the statue procession, and the fireworks display on Sunday, May 11th.

In 2025, the celebrations for Saint Sebastian in Avola took place from May 7th to 11th, with a program balanced between culture, sports, and devotion. Wednesday, May 7th, opened with the "Discover Erasmus" meeting for youth at the Falcone Borsellino Youth Center; Thursday, May 8th, featured the conference "Heraldic Itinerary of Avola" at the Municipal Library and the official opening of the religious festivities.

Friday, May 9th, at the Teatro Garibaldi, saw the free concert "Immortal Arias of Opera" by the Figaro Opera Society; Saturday, May 10th, hosted the "1st Saint Sebastian Trophy," an amateur cycling race on Viale Pier Santi Mattarella, and in the evening, the concert "Homage to Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota." Sunday, May 11th, was the heart of the festival: at 7:00 AM, the pilgrimage of the nuri; at 7:00 PM, the solemn Eucharistic celebration; at 8:00 PM, the procession of the statue with the Città di Avola marching band; and at 10:00 PM, the fireworks display with the return to the Mother Church.
