The 40th edition in 2025

On January 20, 2025, the Saint Sebastian Bonfire Palio reached the milestone of its 40th edition, standing out for an extraordinary number of district bonfires lit in the historic center of Accadia. The blessing of the torches was given at 7:30 PM by Monsignor Giorgio Ferretti, Bishop of Foggia, officially opening the challenge between the districts.

Each bonfire was accompanied by a tasting area with typical Accadia dishes: mixed vegetables with beans, boiled potatoes, chickpeas with polenta, small pizzas, fritters, and sausages, paired with Primitivo wine. The town streets were enlivened by the folk music of the group Luna Janara and a wandering ensemble. Late in the evening, the winning districts were awarded, with the presentation of the palio to the most beautiful fires.

The edition involved schools and associations of the Municipality of Accadia, confirming the event's role as a moment of identity and cohesion for the community of the Daunian Sub-Apennines, in the province of Foggia.
