Saint Roch Patronal Feast in Butera

The 2025 edition

The festivities in honor of Saint Roch in Butera in 2025 took place from late July to late August, with the official opening on Sunday, July 20, and the conclusion on Sunday, August 24. From August 4 to 14, the solemn novena in honor of Saint Roch was held, with guest preachers and outdoor masses.

The most anticipated moment was August 16, the patron saint's day: the solemn procession of the children's blessing traversed the streets of the historic center with the large participation of barefoot devotees, followed by the basil-adorned float and, in the evening, the fireworks display. Among the side events were the blessing of the animals (August 7), the pilgrimage to the cemetery (August 12), and the blessing and distribution of Saint Roch's bread. On August 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption, celebrations involved three churches in the town.
