The Saint Roch Festival is the patronal feast of Parzanica, a small municipality nestled on the slopes overlooking Lake Iseo, in the province of Bergamo. Saint Roch is celebrated on August 16th, and around this date, the town experiences its most intense days, coinciding with the Ferragosto Fair: the religious and festive aspects merge into a single week of celebrations.
Devotion and Procession
The religious heart of the festival is on August 16th, with the solemn mass in the morning and, in the afternoon, the mass followed by the procession with the statue of Saint Roch through the village streets. This is the moment most deeply felt by the community, an expression of popular devotion deeply rooted in the lakeside villages.
The Ferragosto Fair
Alongside the religious part, the evenings are enlivened by the fair: aperitifs, food stalls with local specialties (from boiled beef with green sauce to sardines with polenta), dance orchestras, cover bands, and DJ sets. The week culminates on the evening of August 16th with fireworks. Throughout the event, there are bars, a restaurant, wood-fired pizza, and traditional tombola (bingo).
A Village Festival by the Lake
The Saint Roch Festival has free admission and represents Parzanica's main summer event. For a village of a few hundred inhabitants, it is the time when the community comes together, amidst faith, music, and conviviality, with the backdrop of Lake Iseo.

The 2026 edition of the Saint Roch Festival is expected in Parzanica in mid-August, with the patron saint's day on the 16th, integrated with the Ferragosto Fair.
The structure follows the established pattern: evenings with aperitifs and food stalls, dance orchestras, DJ sets, and cover bands, religious celebrations with solemn mass and procession on August 16th, and concluding fireworks. Monday to Thursday
- 7:00 PM — Opening with aperitif and food stall (local specialties: boiled beef with green sauce, sardines with polenta)
- 9:00 PM — Dance or entertainment evening with orchestra, cover band, or DJ set
Thursday (Assumption of Mary)
- 10:30 AM — Holy Mass
- 6:30 PM — Food stall opening
- 9:00 PM — Musical evening
Saturday/Friday, August 16th — Saint Roch
- 10:30 AM — Solemn Mass of Saint Roch
- 4:00 PM — Holy Mass and procession with the statue of Saint Roch
- 6:30 PM — Food stall opening
- 9:00 PM — Dance evening with Orchestra
- 11:30 PM — Fireworks (weather permitting)
