A Ferragosto Tradition in Val Seriana
The Saint Roch Festival is the summer event that defines Piario, a small municipality in the Upper Val Seriana, in the province of Bergamo. It takes place every year around the days of Ferragosto, at the Saint Roch chapel, and with its long history - the 56th edition was held in 2025 - it is one of the most deeply rooted festivals in the valley.
Three Days of Cuisine, Music, and Tradition
The event spans three days, around August 14th, 15th, and 16th. The food stalls offer local specialties for lunch and dinner, while the program alternates moments of celebration and devotion: bouncy castles for children, tombola games, evenings of live music, the fireworks display on Ferragosto night, and the procession accompanied by the Parre musical band.
A Festival Made by Volunteers
Behind the festival is the work of A.S.D. Piario and the village volunteers, who set up the event each year and also organize a shuttle bus service to facilitate access to the Saint Roch chapel. A simple and authentic event, deeply connected to the identity of Piario and the Ferragosto celebrations in the Bergamo Val Seriana.
Saint Roch Festival — edition 2026
For 2026, the Saint Roch Festival in Piario returns to its usual Ferragosto slot, with the 57th edition expected around August 14-16 at the Saint Roch chapel. The event confirms its established format: local cuisine, live music, bouncy castles, tombola games, fireworks, and the procession on the final day.

- August 14 - bouncy castles (10:00-19:00), kitchen open for lunch and dinner, musical evening
- August 15 - bouncy castles, afternoon tombola, Holy Mass, evening live music and fireworks display
- August 16 - religious services, procession with the Parre musical band, afternoon tombola, evening live music
Shuttle bus service on days with closed roads.
