The patronal feast of Faedo, between Euganean Hills flavours and poetry
Amidst the gentle slopes of the Euganean Hills, the hamlet of Faedo, in Cinto Euganeo within the province of Padua, annually celebrates its patron saint Saint Peter (whose feast day falls on June 29th) with a festival traditionally held on the last weekends of June. Organized by the Faedo Festival Committee, the event is founded on friendship and conviviality, values that have always animated this small hillside community.
The food stand is the heart of the event, offering typical dishes from Euganean Hills cuisine, accompanied by excellent local wines. Among the specialties documented in recent editions: gnocchi and bigoli, musso (donkey meat, a Venetian tradition), grilled salami with pancetta, cold dishes, and assorted desserts. Authentic cuisine that tells the story of the gastronomic identity of Padua and the Veneto region.
The Saint Peter's Festival is not just about food. The program includes a Poetry Review and the traditional Painting Exhibition, both open to all interested individuals. A rare combination of a village festival and cultural moments, making Faedo a celebration with a dual soul, both popular and refined.
For the small hamlet of Faedo, the patronal feast is the time of year when the village comes together and welcomes visitors to the Euganean Hills. An authentic celebration, far from large crowds, which preserves the convivial spirit of Veneto's village festivals, immersed in the hilly landscape of the Euganean Hills Regional Park.
The Saint Peter's Festival in Faedo will return on the last weekends of June 2026, tentatively within the June 20-28 window, continuing the annual tradition of the patronal feast. The food stand will again offer typical Euganean Hills dishes and excellent local wines, accompanied by the Poetry Review and the traditional Painting Exhibition.
Currently, the Faedo Festival Committee has not yet published the official dates and detailed schedule for the 2026 edition: these will be announced on the hamlet's website in the weeks preceding the event.
