Saint Pantaleon Patronal Feast

In 2025, the Saint Pantaleon Patronal Feast in Martignano renewed its centuries-old rites: the statue procession on July 26th, dawn masses, and the kissing of the relic on the 27th, amidst illuminations, brass band concerts, and fireworks.

The event was framed by the Devoziuna series by the Parco Palmieri social cooperative: on July 22nd, the musical performance «To travùdi t'a Pantalèu — Song to Saint Pantaleon» with Rocco De Santis and Mattia Manco, in Griko and Romance dialect; on July 24th, the presentation of the «Magic Book of Saint Pantaleon», a 19th-century collection intertwining magic and religion; and on July 26th and 27th, guided tours of the wells of Saint Pantaleon, Palazzo Palmieri, the Library of Happiness, and the frescoed chapel. A journey that combined popular devotion, memory, and Griko identity in the Salento village.
