Saint Nicholas of Bari Festival (Lu Fistinu)

The 2025 quinquennial edition

Returning after five years, the 2025 edition of Lu Fistinu drew faithful, emigrants, and visitors to Salemi (province of Trapani). On the opening Sunday, after mass in the Mother Church, the statue of Saint Nicholas was carried in procession through the historic center to Piazza Alicia, where theatrical re-enactments of the highlights of the Saint's life and the rite of handing over the city keys took place.

In the following days, the statue rested in various city churches, accompanied by the traditional pilgrimage and floral tributes. The festivities concluded with a parade of flag-wavers and the marching band, followed by evening fireworks, sealing an event that the town in the Trapani area had been awaiting for five years.
