Edition 2025 — Saint Nicholas Fava Beans
The 2025 Saint Nicholas Festival took on special significance, celebrating the 4th Centenary of the Patronage of the saint over Pollutri (1625-2025). The winter cycle opened on Sunday, November 23rd, with the Sfilata delle Some, animated by about thirty tractors loaded with flour departing from the "Paolo Pepe" Multifunctional Center, concluding with the communal lunch at the House of Saint Nicholas. The novena began on November 26th with the removal of the silver bust at 5:45 PM and Mass at 6:00 PM.
On the evening of December 5th, after the celebration presided over by the Archbishop of Chieti-Vasto Bruno Forte, six quintals of fava beans were cooked in the nine copper cauldrons and over two thousand loaves were distributed, along with bread and wine for those present. On December 6th, the patron saint's day, the Solemn Mass was followed by the procession of the silver bust through the village streets and fireworks.
