Saint Michael the Archangel Feast (Casalmartino)

The 2025 edition of the Saint Michael the Archangel Feast in Casalmartino confirmed the vitality of one of the most deeply rooted patronal feasts among the hamlets of Ovindoli, on the Altopiano delle Rocche in the province of L'Aquila. Faithful to the spirit of the celebrations in the Ovindoli villages — such as those of San Potito and Santa Jona — the feast centered on the solemn Holy Mass and the procession of the patron saint's statue through the streets of the medieval village.

Alongside the liturgical moment, there was no shortage of the convivial aspects typical of Abruzzo village feasts: community gatherings, traditional Marsican cuisine, and the simple, genuine atmosphere that characterizes these autumn appointments in the heart of the Sirente-Velino Regional Park.
