Saint Maximus Patronal Feast and Saint Maximus Fair

2025 Edition

In 2025, L'Aquila once again paid homage to its patron saint San Massimo d'Aveia with solemn celebrations from June 8th to 11th. On June 9th, the Vigil Mass at the Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio opened the festivities; on June 10th, the day of the solemnity, the morning Capitular Mass, animated by the "San Sisto" Schola Cantorum, and the evening Stational Mass presided over by the Archbishop were held, followed by the procession in the historic center with the "Città di Paganica" Band and the performance of the "Città di L'Aquila" Flag-wavers Group.

On June 11th, in the Castle Circuit, the traditional Saint Maximus Fair took place from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, while on June 14th, the 8th Choral Festival "A song for Saint Maximus" completed the calendar of festivities.
