Saint Lucy Festival (with traditional fair)

The 2025 edition of the Saint Lucy Festival in Morciano di Leuca (province of Lecce) took place on December 13th, renewing a deeply felt tradition in the Capo di Leuca. As every year, the day combined the religious dimension with the popular aspect of the fair.

From the early hours of the morning, the town center came alive with the stalls of the Saint Lucy Fair: stockfish and salt cod for the Christmas Eve feast, gastronomic products, small trees, Christmas decorations, nativity figurines, and gift ideas. There was no shortage of Christmas markets and the exhibition of embroidery and sewing work by the Apostleship of Prayer, along with crafts made by local schools.

Religious celebrations, with masses and the procession through the town streets accompanied by the brass band, marked the day, which closed in the evening with a fireworks display. The event, organized by the Saint Lucy Festival Committee, confirmed the strong bond of the Morciano community with its saint.
