Edition 2025 — Saint Lucy in Mirabella

In December 2025, Mirabella Imbaccari celebrated Saint Lucy with the customary vampa lit in Piazza Vespri after evening Mass, the blessing and distribution of traditionally prepared cuccìa, the statue procession, and the local produce fair. A well-attended festival that brings the entire community together every year around the fire and the blessed grain.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Lucy Festival in Mirabella Imbaccari (CT) upheld the rituals that have marked December 13th for generations. In Piazza Vespri, at vespers and following Holy Mass, the traditional vampa was lit; the priest then blessed the cuccìa, which was distributed for free to all present. The dish, made of boiled wheat seasoned with oil and cinnamon, had been prepared on the eve of the festival according to ancient local methods. The festival included the procession of the Saint Lucy statue and a fair featuring local products, in an atmosphere of deep devotion and community spirit.
