Edition 2025 — Saint Louis Festival in Alvisopoli
In 2025, Alvisopoli (Fossalta di Portogruaro, Venice) once again celebrated its Saint Louis Festival, between late May and mid-June: Veneto-Friulian cuisine, card tournaments, dancing evenings, shows, and the historic horizontal greased pole challenge on the Taglio canal.
The 2025 edition of the Saint Louis Festival in Alvisopoli continued the ancient tradition of the festival in the hamlet of Fossalta di Portogruaro (Venice). The food stalls offered dishes of Veneto-Friulian cuisine, while the program alternated tournaments, dancing evenings, music, and shows.
In 2025, the historic horizontal greased pole challenge on the Taglio canal was also present, a popular contest held for over a century that remains the distinctive mark of the event.
