The Saint Lawrence Festival is the summer celebration of the hamlet of Cavazzana, in the municipality of Lusia, Rovigo province. It is held in the first days of August until August 10th, the day of Saint Lawrence, patron saint of the community. A tradition that has over half a century of history.
Flavors of Polesine
The heart of the festival is the food stand in Piazza I Maggio, managed by over 80 volunteers, which offers the great classics of Polesine cuisine: duck bigoli, donkey meat with polenta, and other specialties prepared with fresh ingredients and local recipes. Every evening the square comes alive with live music groups and DJ sets.
Devotion and Sport
The religious moment culminates on August 10th with mass, the procession, and fireworks in honor of Saint Lawrence. Among the festival's events is also the Mountain Bike Grand Prix, a cycling race that attracts enthusiasts from all over the Polesine region.
