Saint Lawrence Festival (Laurentian Days)

The 2025 Saint Lawrence Festival in Aversa (Caserta, Campania) was celebrated from August 6th to 10th at the Abbey of San Lorenzo ad Septimum, in a particularly significant year: the jubilee for the 1800th anniversary of the birth of Saint Lawrence, deacon and martyr. The celebrations opened with the solemn Triduum of preparation and continued with sacred and classical music concerts under the basilica's vaults and moments of reflection dedicated to the Saint's life.

On the evening of August 10th, the martyr's liturgical feast day, the solemn Eucharistic concelebration was presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese of Aversa, accompanied by the participation of the local clergy. The popular dimension of the festival was also present, with the Popular Festival of Ancient Flavors and its typical products, and the procession of the statue of Saint Lawrence through the streets of the San Lorenzo district. The jubilee year was also marked, in June, by the sacred performance «The Martyrdom of Lawrence», which staged the life and martyrdom of the Saint inside the abbey.
