Saint Lawrence 2025: the 57th Palio goes to Rione Moletto

On August 10, 2025, Giglio Porto celebrated its patron saint, Saint Lawrence, with the 57th edition of the Palio Marinaro. The regatta, held around 7:00 PM between the harbor and the Lazzaretto cove on a 2,000-meter course with buoys to round, featured the three historic districts Saraceno, Moletto, and Chiesa, each with their own four-oared boat and coxswain.

The Rione Moletto won the Palio, confirming its success from previous editions. As per tradition, the day was completed with a religious procession, the parade of the districts, the sea procession for the Madonna Stella Maris, live music in the square, and an evening fireworks display over the harbor bay, making it one of the busiest evenings of the summer on Isola del Giglio.
