Saint Julia Festival 2025

The 2025 edition of the patronal feast of Livorno followed the customary rites. On the evening of May 21st, with a meeting at 9 PM at the church of San Sebastiano, the relics of Saint Julia were embarked at the Cantina del Palio Marinaro and carried in procession along the Medici canals, with stops at the landings of Piazza Cavour, Ovo Sodo, Pontino, and Santa Caterina, reaching Scali Finocchietti and arriving at Piazza Grande at 10:50 PM.

May 22nd opened with the Saint Julia Palio at 9 AM in the waters off the Fortezza Nuova. In the afternoon, at 5:30 PM, the solemn Eucharistic concelebration in the Cathedral was presided over by the Bishop of Brescia, Monsignor Pierantonio Tremolada, followed by the procession to the port for the blessing of the sea and the distribution of the blessed bread of Saint Julia.
