Edition 2025 — Zeppola Festival
The 2025 edition
As per tradition, on March 19th, 2025, Cutrofiano renewed its appointment with the Feast of Saint Joseph and Zeppola Festival. The procession departed from the church of Saint Joseph the Patriarch, carrying the papier-mâché statue of the saint, adorned with flowers and followed by the faithful, through the streets of the town. The procession, enlivened by brass bands, concluded with the heartfelt blessing of new fathers.
In the afternoon and evening, the popular festival came to life with fireworks, concerts, and the opening of food stalls, where the stars were the zeppole di San Giuseppe—fried or baked, filled with cream—and the traditional ciceri e tria, in an atmosphere that drew residents and visitors to the heart of Salento, in the province of Lecce.
