Edition 2025 — Saint Joseph in Bompensiere

In 2025, Bompensiere once again celebrated Saint Joseph on March 19th with its Tavulata. The three figures of the Holy Family walked through the village streets to the square, where the votive table with decorated breads was set up. Between the Rutta di li baccaredde and typical products, the Nisseno community renewed a ritual of devotion and sharing passed down from generation to generation.

The 2025 Saint Joseph Tavulata

The 2025 edition confirmed the vitality of a tradition deeply rooted in the village of Bompensiere, in the province of Caltanissetta. Around March 19th, the community gathered for the Saint Joseph Tavulata, with hand-modeled votive breads arranged on the votive table in the village square.

As per tradition, three figures dressed as Saint Joseph, the Madonna, and Jesus walked through the village streets before reaching the table. There was no shortage of Rutta di li baccaredde and tastings of typical local products, in an atmosphere of popular celebration and devotion.
