Edition 2025 — Saint Joseph Villabate

In 2025, Villabate once again celebrated its patron saint, Saint Joseph, on March 18th and 19th, renewing the ritual of the flower-adorned staff and the banquet. The community gathered around the staff procession, the distribution of minestrone and panuzzi, and the solemn procession of the Saint's statue, in a blend of popular faith, music, and traditional Sicilian gastronomy.

Saint Joseph Festival 2025

The 2025 edition, held on March 18th and 19th, confirmed the vitality of a centuries-old tradition. The fir staff, laden with fruit, vegetables, flowers, and banknotes, was carried on shoulders through the streets of Villabate amidst firecrackers, drums, and a brass band, before resting in the Mother Church of Sant'Agata. The blessing of the banquet, the distribution of the Saint Joseph minestrone and panuzzi with wild fennel seeds, along with the sfinci festival, accompanied the two days of celebration. On March 19th, the procession of the wooden statue of the patron saint traveled through the center amidst the devoted participation of the locals.
