Saint Joseph Festival (Sperone)

2025 Edition

The Saint Joseph the Worker Festival in Sperone took place as per tradition between late April and May 1, 2025. Religious moments—rosary, triduum, and Holy Masses—preceded the Saint's day, while the community set up the "Ammitu a San Giuseppi", the votive altar with devotional breads and the Holy Family table. On the afternoon of May 1st, the statue of Saint Joseph was carried in procession through the districts of Assieni and Sperone to the Sanctuary of Maria SS. di Custonaci. Re-enactments with living characters, socio-cultural events, musical performances, and traditional fireworks completed the festivities.
