Edition 2025 — Saint Joseph in Letojanni

In 2025, Letojanni once again celebrated its patron saint, Joseph, with the feast on March 19th, preceded by the traditional novena. The saint's day featured a morning Solemn High Mass presided over by H.E. Rev. Monsignor Cesare Di Pietro, with civil and military authorities, the confraternity, and local groups; afterwards, the procession headed to Piazza Angelo D'Arrigo for the blessing of the sea. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, the solemn procession of the statue took place through the town streets, followed by another solemn mass upon its return.

The 2025 Patronal Feast

The community of Letojanni, on the Ionian coast near Messina, renewed its March patronal feast in honor of Saint Joseph in 2025. The festivities, prepared by the novena, reached their climax on March 19th.

In the late morning, a Solemn High Mass was celebrated, presided over by H.E. Rev. Monsignor Cesare Di Pietro, with civil and military authorities, the confraternity, and local groups in attendance. Afterwards, the procession reached Piazza Angelo D'Arrigo for the blessing of the sea and the act of entrustment to Patriarch Saint Joseph. At 5:00 PM, the statue was carried in procession through the town center, and upon its return to the church, a final solemn mass was celebrated. The culinary traditions of the feast, such as the 'cuzzolata' and the 'zeppole' prepared by the Confraternity of Saint Joseph, were also a highlight.
