Edition 2025 — Saint Joseph in Leonforte

In 2025, Leonforte again celebrated the Saint Joseph Festival on March 18th and 19th, renewing the four-century-old ritual of the Artari. Families and neighborhoods set up votive altars with cuddure and traditional dishes, while thousands of visitors participated in the night-time pilgrimage and the Feast of the Saints at noon on the 19th.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Joseph Festival in Leonforte, in the province of Enna, confirmed the vitality of one of the oldest traditions in inland Sicily. Devotees set up Artari in their homes, decorating them with cuddure (sculpted sacred breads) and traditional votive dishes. On the night between March 18th and 19th, the girata dill'Artari attracted visitors from all over the island, amidst prayers in dialect and gifts of blessed bread to children. At noon on the 19th, the Feast of the Saints renewed the gesture of sharing with the distribution of cardoons, fritters, fava beans, and chickpeas, before the evening procession of the Saint's statue through the historic center.
