Edition 2025 — Saint Joseph in the Egadi

In 2025, the Egadi Islands once again celebrated Saint Joseph with three days of rites and traditions, from the eve with the Duminara votive bonfires to the procession on March 19th. In Marettimo, where the saint is the patron, the lighting of the three bonfires, the Alloggiate, the lunch of the Saints, and the distribution of blessed panuzzi bread were renewed in a moment of strong community sharing.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Joseph Festival in the Egadi Islands confirmed the vitality of an ancient tradition, celebrated between Favignana, Levanzo, and especially Marettimo. The eve saw the lighting of the votive bonfires of the Duminara, while the saint's day featured the Alloggiate rite, the Lunch of the Saints offered in the square to the Holy Family, and the procession with the statues of Saint Joseph and Saint Francis of Paola.

On that occasion, the saint's statue was restored, revealing original details such as the small starfish depicted on the tunic. There was no shortage of home altars, the blessing and distribution of panuzzi bread, and moments of entertainment, testifying to a festival that in Marettimo is considered the mirror of the island's soul.
