Saint Joseph Festival in Niscemi

The 2025 edition of the Saint Joseph Festival in Niscemi, in the municipality of Niscemi (province of Caltanissetta), took place according to the traditional calendar on March 18th and 19th. Starting from March 12th, novenas accompanied the evening visits to the avutari, the votive altars set up in homes and churches with artistic bread, sweets, and seasonal produce.

On the evening of the 18th, the bonfires were lit on street corners, followed by the roasting of the Niscemi violet artichoke. On March 19th, at noon, the Manciata dei Santi saw three needy individuals welcomed to represent the Holy Family, while in the afternoon, the auction of votive breads in front of the Church of Saint Joseph concluded the festivities for charitable purposes.
