Saint Joseph Festival — Contemporary Tradition

In 2025, the Saint Joseph Festival in Salemi was held from March 16th to 23rd. The Saint Joseph 'Cene', with their famous votive breads, remained open to the public daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Three appointments featured the 'Invito ai Santi' ritual: Sunday, March 16th at the Church of San Giovanni with the Giovani di Salemi association, Wednesday, March 19th in Piazza Dittatura with the Xaipe association, and Sunday, March 23rd at the Church of San Bartolomeo with Nuova Sicilia Bedda.

Among the novelties that year was the '101 pietanze – I sapori nel Borgo' food trail, set up in the Jesuit College atrium on Sundays, March 16th and 23rd, starting at 1:00 PM, workshops on votive bread organized by the Pro Loco in Piazza Libertà, and the «Specchio e Anima» exhibition by Andrea Cusumano, inaugurated on March 16th at the Church of the Rosary.
