Saint Joseph Festival

The 2025 edition of the Saint Joseph Festival confirmed the usual two-part structure in Burgio. On March 19th, the community celebrated the liturgical observance with a week of rosaries and masses, and with the traditional Saint Joseph tables, laden with pignolata, vucciddati, gnucculuna, seasonal vegetable frittatas, and sweets like sfingi and tortorelle.

In mid-August, the village experienced the grand outdoor festival: the brass band parade announced the festivities, which culminated in the solemn procession of the 17th-century Holy Family statue. Surrounding the religious event were the breaking of the terracotta pots, tournaments, events for children, the sausage feast, and musical shows in Piazza Umberto I, with the usual participation of the many emigrants who returned for the occasion.
