Edition 2025 — Lu Tuppi Tuppi

In 2025, Sommatino also celebrated the Saint Joseph Festival with the two traditional events in March and August. On March 19th, the sacred re-enactment of "Lu Tuppi Tuppi" took place, with the procession, solemn mass, and the "Tavula Sbammata"; the summer festival featured the Saint Joseph Palio and the Immigrant Festival dedicated to returning emigrants.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Saint Joseph Festival in Sommatino (province of Caltanissetta) confirmed the vitality of a tradition that has lasted since 1890. On March 19th, the historic center hosted the sacred re-enactment of "Lu Tuppi Tuppi": local actors, dressed as Saint Joseph, the Madonna, the Baby Jesus, and the Angel, evoked the Flight into Egypt by knocking from door to door in search of hospitality.

The "Tavula Sbammata," set up with blessed breads, sweets, and local products, was blessed and the food distributed to the needy. The summer festival on the second Sunday of August brought the community and Sommatino's emigrants together around the Saint Joseph Palio and performances in the square.
