Saint John the Baptist Patronal Feast

The 2025 edition of the Saint John the Baptist Patronal Feast confirmed the vitality of a millennial tradition in Lucoli, in the Province of L'Aquila. As every year, the focus of the celebrations was the Abbey of San Giovanni Battista in Collimento, with Holy Masses, moments of prayer and adoration, and the well-attended community dinner that brings the entire town together.

The evocative Saint John's Fire was also present, linked to the night of the summer solstice, which in the small Abruzzo town unites the religious dimension with folk roots. The feast concluded on June 24th with the Solemn Mass on the patron saint's day.
