Edition 2025 — Saint John the Baptist
The 2025 edition of the Saint John the Baptist Festival in Ragusa took place according to tradition, with the celebration of the nativity on June 24th and the solemn festivities from August 19th to 29th. The program was presented at the beginning of August by the Diocese and the Municipality.
After the opening of the niche on August 19th, the ten days of the festival alternated between liturgical celebrations, cultural events, and popular moments. On August 29th, the day of the Baptist's martyrdom, the city gathered around its patron saint in the traditional candlelit procession through the historic center, featuring the Holy Ark and numerous devotees walking barefoot or dressed in red as a vow. The festivities concluded with a fireworks display over the San Vito Bridge.
