Saint John the Baptist Festival

The 2025 edition of the Saint John the Baptist Festival in Bisegna, in the province of L'Aquila, took place in the wake of the centuries-old tradition of the Marsica. On the night of the solstice, the faithful reached the small oratory nestled in the woods of the Upper Giovenco Valley and, at dawn, participated in the blessing of the Saint John spring.

Around the source, the comparatico ritual was renewed, with the participation of a group from Trasacco according to an ancient custom. The morning dew and the water believed to be miraculous accompanied the procession of the Baptist's statue toward the village, in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
