Saint John the Almsgiver Festival (Patronal Feast)

The 2025 patronal feast of Casarano took place from May 16 to 31, alternating religious moments and civil initiatives. The liturgical program opened with the traditional preparatory novena (May 10-16) and reached its peak on Saturday, May 17, the solemnity of Saint John, with the 7:00 PM holy mass followed by the evocative procession through the city streets.

On the civil front, the City of Bracigliano Lyrical-Symphonic Grand Concert accompanied the day, while in the evening, at 9:30 PM, the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino brought pizzica music to Piazza Indipendenza. There were also entertainment moments with Barbablu and the comedy of "Pino e gli anticorpi". On May 18, in collaboration with the local Caritas, a food drive was held for the solidarity bank. The festivities concluded on May 31 with the solemn commemoration of the miracle of Saint John the Almsgiver in Piazza Umberto I.
