Edition 2025 — Saint Giusto Martyr Festival
Paglieta Homeland of International Folklore — first edition
The heart of the 2025 festivities was the evening of Saturday, July 12th, at 9:00 PM in Piazza Roma, with the first edition of the "Paglieta Homeland of International Folklore" festival, included in the 16th Choral Review organized by the San Giusto Martyr Choir and promoted by Federcori and Chorus Inside. The stage featured the San Giusto Martyr Choir of Paglieta (Conductor Panfilo Di Matteo), the Teatino Folk Group of Chieti (Conductor Gianluca Moresco), the Cheremshyna Ensemble from Ukraine (Conductor Olga Ploska), the White Rose Ensemble from Bulgaria (Conductor Elena Dimitrova), and the Sardinian dance group Dimonios (Conductor Franco Becconi), which brought the famous "Su ballu tundu" to the square.
The festival, sponsored by Federcori, Chorus Inside, the Abruzzo Choir Association, FIDC, UDA, NAUC, and the Municipality of Paglieta, aimed to make the Abruzzese village a reference point for international folklore, fostering a dialogue between cultures through songs, dances, costumes, and stories. The festivities concluded on July 14th, the patron saint's day, with the solemn procession led by the historic Great War veterans' banner.
