Edition 2025 — Saint George Festival

On August 22, 2025, Sternatia celebrated the Saint George of Cappadocia Festival, the patron saint of the Grecìa Salentina village. A day marked by liturgical celebrations and the solemn procession with the saint's statue carried on shoulders through the streets of the center, amidst illuminations, a brass band, and the participation of the entire community. In the evening, live concerts, pizzica salentina, folk groups, fireworks, and stalls with Salento specialties took place.

The 2025 edition of the Saint George of Cappadocia Festival took place in Sternatia (LE) on August 22nd, renewing the devotion to the patron saint venerated since 1843.

The day combined religious and popular dimensions: after the liturgical celebrations, the solemn procession crossed the historic center with the statue of the saint carried on shoulders, accompanied by the brass band. In the evening, the village came alive with live concerts, pizzica salentina, folk groups, artistic lighting, and fireworks. Food stalls offered the typical flavors of Salento, including pittule, friselle, sweets, and local wines.
