Saint George Martyr Festival – Historical Cavalcade

On May 11, 2025, Vicari celebrated its Historical Cavalcade in honor of Saint George Martyr, patron saint of the village in the Metropolitan City of Palermo. The procession of knights in period costumes paraded through the alleys of the historic center, at the foot of the castle, in one of the most heartfelt moments of the patronal feast.

The festivities featured the performance «Saint George defeats evil», with the re-enactment of the battle between the saint and the dragon, and the Almond Festival with the town's traditional sweets, from passavolanti to cubbaita. The event, organized by the San Giorgio Martire Association, confirmed the vitality of an identity-defining tradition that combines faith, historical re-enactment, and Sicilian gastronomic culture.
