Saint George Festival in Montemerano

The 2025 edition of the Saint George Festival upheld the ritual that has animated Montemerano for generations. During the week of April 25th, the village renewed its devotion to the patron saint with a procession and the blessing of the Palio, while the streets of the historic center transformed into a medieval stage with a historical pageant in costume, flag-wavers, and the "Giuseppe Verdi" philharmonic band.

The heart of the event, as per tradition, was the Dragon Joust, the costumed tournament that saw the Borgo, Croce, and Castello districts compete. The festival was completed by the hot-air balloon launch, dance evenings, bingo, and the convivial Tascapane lunch.
