Edition 2025 — Saint Francis in Massa

On October 4, 2025, Massa celebrated Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of the city and Italy, with liturgical services, the Saint's procession, and the traditional fair in the historic center. Over a hundred stalls animated Largo Matteotti, Viale Eugenio Chiesa, Piazza Palma, and Piazza Aranci, accompanied by a petting farm, a farmers' market with local products, and children's workshops.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Francis Festival took place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Massa, the last recurrence before the return of October 4th as a national holiday from 2026.

Alongside the liturgical services at the Cathedral Basilica and the procession of the patron saint, the city hosted the customary fair with over a hundred stalls distributed between Largo Matteotti, Viale Eugenio Chiesa, Piazza Palma, and Piazza Aranci, within the ZTL perimeter of the historic center.

Among the side events, the return of the petting farm (calves, sheep, donkeys), a special edition of the farmers' market with culinary delicacies from the Apuan territory, and numerous activities dedicated to children, in a day of great popular participation.
