Saint Dominic the Abbot Festival

The 2025 edition of the festival

In August 2025, the community of Sora renewed the tradition of the August festival in honor of Saint Dominic the Abbot, in the basilica built at the confluence of the Liri and Fibreno rivers. On August 22nd, the basilica hosted five masses, at 7, 8, 9, 11, and 18; the main celebration at 11 was presided over by the abbot of Casamari, Father Loreto Camilli, confirming the historical bond between the two abbeys. The day concluded with the evening mass and the kissing of the saint's relics.

Alongside the religious rites, the popular dimension was not lacking: food stalls were set up in the parish square, while the community's youth organized a charity raffle whose proceeds were destined for charitable works and parish activities. The festival attracted faithful and pilgrims from Sora and neighboring towns in the province of Frosinone.
