2025 festivities: The birth of the Feast of the Raising of the Cross

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the statue of Saint Blaise crossed the streets of Giuliano di Roma in a solemn procession, in the province of Frosinone. On the sidelines of the procession, in Piazza Borgo Vittorio Emanuele, a public meeting was held that gave life to the first Feast of the Raising of the Cross, requested by the parish priest Father Luigi Vitali.

The protagonist was the iron cross that has stood on the highest point of Mount Siserno since 1973: originally placed near the elementary schools and then torn down, it was carried by hand to the summit by about twenty local volunteers. The evening reconstructed its history thanks to research by Antonio Luzi and Cataldo Torella, restoring the names and testimonies of the protagonists. The restoration of the cross is owed to the Fochisti Giglianisi group, the same ones who manage the village's traditional Christmas bonfire.
