Saint Blaise Patronal Feast

2025 Edition

The 2025 Saint Blaise Patronal Feast was celebrated in Avetrana, in the province of Taranto, between late April and May 1st, following the traditional pattern that has marked the town's most cherished feast for years. The day of faith featured the solemn procession through the streets of the center and the blessing of the throat, the rite linked to the miracle of Saint Blaise, while the day of the feast alternated Eucharistic celebrations, homage to the Patron's relic, and major civic events.

The streets of the village were lit up with artistic illuminations and resonated with brass band concerts by Puglian ensembles, while fireworks displays and musical events attracted numerous visitors. The edition confirmed the strong bond of the Municipality of Avetrana community with its patron saint, in a feast that intertwines centuries-old devotion and popular joy typical of Salento festivals and patronal feasts.
