The 133rd Saint Benedict Festival (2025)

From July 17 to 20, 2025, San Martino delle Scale, a village in the municipality of Monreale, celebrated the 133rd edition of the Saint Benedict of Norcia Festival, organized by the Committee of the Children of Saint Benedict in collaboration with the Pro Loco and the Benedictine Abbey. The festival opened on July 17 with the triduum, vespers, and mass at the Abbey.

The evenings of July 18 and 19 brought the village to life with food stalls, a funfair, magic shows (Mago Pallino), the inauguration of the 38th Organ Festival, cabaret, and the tribute concert "Mediterraneo - La grande storia dei Pooh" in Piazza P. Semeria, alongside guided tours of the monastery. On Sunday, July 20, the main day, the program included a mass with the blessing of bread and oil, a pontifical mass presided over by Monsignor Angelo Giurdanella, the solemn procession of the statue of Saint Benedict, and the concluding fireworks display.
