Taizzano celebrates Saint Azio
The Festa di Sant'Azio is the patronal feast of Taizzano, a hamlet in the municipality of Narni, in the province of Terni. The village honors Saint Azio, a young peasant from Panfilia martyred on August 1st, 300 AD during Diocletian's persecutions: his statue depicts him with his gaze turned to the sky, an agricultural tool in his right hand and the palm of martyrdom in his left.
Tradition, faith, and good food
The festival combines religious celebrations with entertainment and good gastronomy. Throughout the event, a covered food stall is open with local specialties, only closed on August 1st, the liturgical day of the Saint. There is also a charity raffle and a funfair for the little ones, making the festival an anticipated event for the entire community of Taizzano and neighboring towns.
Saint Azio Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Festa di Sant'Azio is held in Taizzano, a hamlet of Narni, from Wednesday, July 29 to Sunday, August 9. The patronal feast alternates religious moments in honor of the Saint with evenings of entertainment and conviviality.
Throughout the event, the food stall is active with traditional dishes, closed only on August 1st, the liturgical day of Saint Azio. The charity raffle and the funfair for families complete the program.
