Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony Abbot

In 2025, Santa Domenica Vittoria celebrated from August 28th to September 8th to honor its patron, Saint Anthony Abbot. The central moment, on the first Sunday of September, saw the "biancovestiti" lift the statue from the altar amidst shouts of joy and launch into the traditional race, followed by the long door-to-door collection through the village streets. Nebrodi institutions participated in the patronal procession, a sign of the deep roots of this tradition in the mountain territory of Messina.

The 2025 edition of the Saint Anthony Abbot Festival was spread over a wide range of celebrations, from August 28th to September 8th, enlivening the entire village of Santa Domenica Vittoria. The heart of the event was the procession of the patron saint led by the devotees dressed in white, who carried the 18th-century float covered in gold and ex-votos on their shoulders.

The opening race, the door-to-door collection, and the evening return of the statue marked an intense day, experienced by the community and the emigrants who returned for the occasion. Nebrodi institutions also took part in the procession, testifying to the identity and collective value of this popular festival.
