Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony Abbot in Cerchio
The 2025 edition of the Saint Anthony Abbot Festival in Cerchio, in the province of L'Aquila, took place from January 17 to 19, expanding to three days of celebration. On Friday the 17th, the dinner in the square featuring pennette all'arrabbiata, beans, and sausages was accompanied by music from the Giuseppe Palerma Band. On Saturday the 18th, after the 5:00 PM mass, the gastronomic evening offered gnocchetti with chickpeas, fettuccine with meat sauce, grilled sausages, and pizza with mortadella, with entertainment by the group Il Gatto e la Volpe.
On Sunday the 19th, the main day opened at 8:00 AM with firecrackers, followed at 9:30 AM by the parade of the Celano civic band, the 11:00 AM mass, and the procession. After the blessing of the fire, bread, and pomegranates, the free distribution took place at 3:30 PM; in the evening, the lottery draw was held, and at 8:00 PM, the closing fireworks display took place.
